    BIBLICAL AUTHORITY

    Trust
At First Anna we trust God’s Word to be all that it claims to be. Jesus believed the Scripture to be true and full of God’s power (Matthew 22:29; Luke 22:37) and that His life was the fulfillment of Scripture. The Apostle Paul claimed that, “All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness…” (II Timothy 3:16). We believe that with faith in Jesus Christ, comes faith in the inerrancy of the entire Scripture.

    Know
At First Anna we believe it is essential to know Scripture. Therefore we are committed as a church to the teaching of God’s Word in every ministry area.

    Live
We believe, as followers of Jesus Christ, we are to live out what God’s Word commands. We do this not for our benefit but for God’s glory; trusting that giving all glory to God with our lives is the most satisfying life one can live.

Here are some teachings on our beliefs about the authority of Scripture.

    INVITING LIFE STYLE

    Home. Work. Play.
"You are the salt of the earth, but if salt has lost its taste, how shall its saltiness be restored? It is no longer good for anything except to be thrown out and trampled under people’s feet. You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven” (Matthew 5:13-16).

At First Anna we believe that God has set each of His followers in their home, work and play environments with the express purpose of revealing to those who don’t know Him the truth of Jesus Christ. We are committed to being a community of believers that lives to invite non-believers to have a relationship with Jesus Christ by grace through faith.

    AUTHENTIC SUPPORT

    Strategic
First Anna is committed to being strategic with finances, programming, volunteers and time. We are strategic to the point of successfully accomplishing our shared vision of moving people into authentic relationships with Jesus and others.

    Serve
At First Anna we believe every believer is gifted by grace to serve God in the church (Body of Christ).

    Give
First Anna relies on all members to support the vision and mission of the church by giving a regular percentage of their income. We believe it is biblically commanded and a privilege to support the church and to give God glory with the financial gifts He has entrusted to us. Not under compulsion, but out of a heart of gratitude do we give back to God by giving to a Body of Christ committed to His glory and mission on earth (Leviticus 27:30; Malachi 3:8-10; Acts 2:42-45; I Corinthians 16:1-3).

    AUTHENTIC COMMUNITY WITH GOD

    Jesus
We believe that the only way to God is through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. There is no other way to the Father except through Him.

    Prayer
At First Anna we believe community with God takes place in prayer. It is through prayer that we are drawn into the activity of God. Prayer should be a regular part of the church’s activity and the life of a believer.

    Glory
At First Anna we seek to give glory to God by walking in the truths of His word. God’s word and its principles should affect our daily lives to the point that we are made more like Christ. We believe this is God’s purpose for every benefactor of His perfect and endless grace (Ephesians 2:8-10).

    Restoration

    AUTHENTIC COMMUNITY WITH OTHERS

    Grace
First Anna believes that we are all benefactors of God’s grace and none of us have attained all that God wants for us. In short we are all sinners. Therefore we seek to be a place where broken, imperfect people can feel accepted by a church that is fully aware of the grace it receives daily from God.

    Accountability
First Anna desires that every believer be involved in a small group of like-minded individuals who will hold each other accountable in living for God’s glory. We believe that it is in an authentic small group environment that individuals grow closer to God and each other (Romans 12:1-3).

    Compassion
In order for First Anna to be a Biblical Church we believe we must care for those in need in our community and in the world. We will use our volunteers, money, time and whatever resource we are blessed with to help care for those in need (Matthew 25:34-40).

    AUTHENTIC FAMILY DISCIPLESHIP

True lasting discipleship takes place in the home. We believe this is one of God’s ordained purposes for the family unit. We aim to train families to continue the discipleship process at home with their children (Deuteronomy 6:4-9; Proverbs 1:1-9; Ephesians 6:1-4).

Here is a teaching about our beliefs on family discipleship.
