Our children ages Birth – 5 years each have a numbered tag.  No one is allowed to pick up a child without the tag.  Children may only be picked up by an adult.  No sibling pickup is allowed in Bright Beginnings.

To protect the health of all the children, those with the following conditions are not allowed in any classroom:
•    Fever (above 100 orally) within the last 24 hours.
•    If they have been on antibiotics LESS than 24 hours or if symptoms are still present.
•    Congestion, runny nose, coughing or sneezing not related to allergies
•    Sore throat, coughing, or Croup
•    Any skin infections/rashes not related to allergies or eczema
•    Any infections or contagious disease
•    Any discharge from the eyes not related to allergies
•    Any diarrhea or vomiting within the last 24 hours.

Our teachers are not authorized to give medication (including topical creams) to any child.  If your child needs an Epi-pen or other medication, please keep it with you and you will be contacted immediately in case of emergency.

Be sure to let us know your child’s allergies when you register him/her.  Volunteers are provided with a list of all children with food allergies and children in our birth – 5 years programs wear a bright yellow ID sticker for additional safety.

All children are encouraged to bring a Bible to every program.
Children who are not fully potty-trained should also pack the following:
•    Two or three disposable diapers
•    A complete change of clothes
•    Labeled bottles and cups (infants and toddlers)
•    ‘Security’ items, such as a favorite blanket or a pacifier.

Children should not bring toys, books or other personal items.

In all of our children’s programs, we strive to have a low teacher-child ratio.  Our goal is different for each age group.
•    Infants 1:3
•    Toddlers 1:5
•    2-year-olds 1:6
•    3-year-olds 1:8
•    4-year-olds 1:9
•    5 years and up 1:10
