Breaking Free to Pursue Jesus

    Who We Are

First Anna is a modern church with a great history but even brighter present and future. Our sole desire is built on the principle of LOVE- Loving God and Loving Others; it's that simple. First Anna is a diverse church, with people from all backgrounds, united by the transforming grace of Jesus.

Vision: Breaking Free to Pursue Jesus.
What does this mean? We all have past regrets and often instead of leaving them in the past, we carry this baggage with us into our present lives and it affects us. It’s time for us to leave our past in the past and pursue Jesus- the One who forgives us, loves us, and cares for us.
Regardless of your past or present- you are welcome here! There will be no judging or mocking because we have all made choices in our lives we would like to change! And that’s what we are about- seeing transformed lives!

Mission: First Anna exists to LOVE. We love God by worshiping Him and loving our community. We love others by serving, both within and outside the church (Matthew 22:37-39)

Worship: Worship is more than a Sunday experience but is a total lifestyle transformation. Worship is to be pursued in every area of our lives- We are called to eat, drink, speak, think and work to the glory of God.
Community: The Christian faith is not intended to be lived in isolation. We were made for community, relationship with God and with each other. Community is more than being in a group, it is growing in Christ with that group. Community is a group that challenges each other and experiencing life together, while becoming like Jesus.

Compassion: By cleansing the feet of His disciples in John 13, Jesus gave an incredible example of service and commands us to do the same. We serve both within and outside the church, being a part of our community. When we serve, we are on mission for Jesus!

The Bible- The sole basis for our belief is the Bible, which is uniquely God-inspired, without error, and the final authority on all matters on which it speaks. As the Bible teaches, there is one God, eternally existing in three persons - Father, Son and Holy Spirit - each possessing all the attributes of deity.

God- God created humans to have fellowship with Him, but they defied God by sinfully going their own way. As a result, we need God's saving grace to end our alienation from Him. Salvation comes only through God's grace - not human effort - and must be received personally by repentance and faith.

Jesus- Jesus Christ, second Person of the Trinity, lived a sinless life on earth and voluntarily paid for our sin by dying on the cross as our substitute. This accomplished salvation for all who receive grace by trusting in Him alone. He rose from the dead and is the only mediator between us and God. He will return to earth to consummate history.

The Holy Spirit- The Holy Spirit draws sinners to Christ and equips believers for personal growth and service to the church. The church's role is to glorify God and serve those in need. At the end, everyone will experience bodily resurrection and the judgment. Only believers will enjoy eternal fellowship with God.

Salvation- Salvation is a gift through repentance toward God and faith in Jesus Christ. Those who are saved by Jesus Christ and will spend eternity in heaven, while those who die in their sins will spend eternity in hell.

Baptism is by immersion after salvation and is done in obedience to Jesus Christ's command.
